Police: 10 shots at Dallas Spring Break Party, 1 serious

Police say 10 people were shot at a spring break party in Dallas and several others were injured as they tried to flee the gunfight.

One person is in critical condition after a shooting at a party venue in The Space Dallas late Saturday night. Nine more victims were taken to hospital in stable condition and an unspecified number were injured while trying to escape, police said. No arrests have been made.

Joe Morgan, 55, told The Dallas Morning News he was working on crowd control at the venue, where a group of teenagers were hosting a spring break party. He told the newspaper he heard gunshots from outside the venue.

“A lot of kids were helping other kids,” Morgan said Sunday, adding that he had seen people shot in the chest, arms and legs.

The weekend shooting involved multiple shootings in Texas was one of several. Four people were shot in Austin as the city hosted its annual South by Southwest Festival and four teenagers were shot at a birthday party in Houston, one fatally.

And in Arkansas, one was killed and 27 were injured after a gunfight at a car show on Saturday.
