The new Google phone has already sold out which is quite impressive since it’s not even available in stores yet according to TmoNews.
In a recent episode of the podcast MoTR the T-Mobile G1 is discussed and the general feeling in the panel is that this is almost a beta phone and that the next version will be much more interesting than this one. There are some cool features but still too many problems to be sorted out, one of these problems being the fact that many people have several different Gmail accounts and this phone is built around the concept of being a “one Gmail account per phone”. This means that many features depend on you being logged into one speficic account for Gmail and other Google Apps. If you use several account some of the features will not work that well.
A big difference between the G1 and iPhone is that Google are relying heavily on the open source community right from the start. Third party application developers are invited play around with the phone and start building applications right away.
