Rumors say Google has bought the social network Bebo for 1 billion dollars. According to TechCrunch they got the information from a “high level source” that an acquisition was finalized on monday earlier this week. Google’s own social network Orkut is very big in Latin America but not at all that big in English speaking countries, that’s why Google wants to bye Bebo the rumors say. Well at least if you believe TechCrunch, Kara Swisher at All Things Digital strongly disagree. She says that a deal earlier this week didn’t happen at all. Sure Bebo is open for sale she says but nothing has been signed yet.
There’s been a lot of talk lately about who is buying who and many rumors are out there. Will it be Microsoft that buys Yahoo even though they seem to have a lot of people against the deal, especially those at Google. Now it seems like Time Warner’s AOL is also very interested in a Yahoo merger. Venture beat sums it up even though many questions still aren’t answered.
